Lett briefly addresses the child abuse issues in new JW.org video

link to the video (10m06s).. skip to 7:35 where he says: "another way we can contribute to the oneness - rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from jehovah's organization.
as an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and 'dishonesties' that jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles.

The Lett video is so creepy. They always say how concerned they are for the young ones and how they don't approve of pedophiles. Well of course they don't approve it's not about approval it's about what are you doing to protect them. They use "bible principles" like the two person witness deal but what about the bull that is known for goring. Our society knows that if you arrest a rapist of children and after he does his time you don't just let him go free to live next door to a family and just kind of keep an eye on him. Listening to lett go on about oneness and supporting the org and not being like rebellious satan by believing the so called lies about pedophiles was really disturbing.
Another thing is the way they don't warn the congregation imagine if there was a guy with a dangerous dog that viciously attacked someone and somehow he got to keep the dog provided he was vigilant about locking it up but you knew he wasn't doing that and the dog had gotten out many times. one day some of your neighbors with children told you they were going to picnic near that guys house would your conscience let you not warn them. Telling parents of the victim that to tell anyone would be slander and they could be disfellowshipped. What kind of policy is that and to condemn them for it makes you an apostate. lett and his god are monsters.

New Avatar - Korah
by cappytan ini decided to update my avatar.. since the society says that disagreeing or speaking against the governing body is like korah challenging moses, i decided korah would be a fitting avatar!.

Good Netflix shows to watch
by Simon inin the long winter nights you need some good tv shows to watch while you wait for the eternity between seasons of game of thrones.. we've watched marco polo (pretty good) and have just started watching orange is the new black which is not at all what i imagined (didn't know it was funny!).
house of cards is on the list too as we've heard good things about that.. anyone have any others that are worth seeing?.

I've been there for scaring someone by saying " i don't think i can direct anyone to this organization in good conscience because I don't think the governing body is the channel to the creator".
If you say that you'll be back there in no time of yea and there was a second accusation since I expressed not having delight over the execution of billions at armageddon

Really don't feel like a JW anymore
by snare&racket init has been a good 8 years away from my area, a good 10 years + since i was regularly at meetings.
a good 12 years since i was hesitantly active.. it is a slow process but it does happen.
i now feel no connection to the belief system beyond memories.

We left in 2010 and it feels like alot of other ideas i used to have that I've changed my mind about. Since i wasn't raised with it the experience has now become like an episode on my life of possible answers. i've made my share of mistakes and held wrong ideas and now moved on. It's maybe easier w/o baggage like JW family, children and childhood history.
It's great to feel the mental freedom

by compound complex ini was expecting you, but not so early in the day.. i saw you walk up to my neighbor fred's house last week while i was out getting the newspaper, once again tossed into the bushes by a careless newspaper boy.
today, it's the usual routine of rising at dawn, fetching the paper from the bushes -- where else?
